Companies, especially the start-ups, need all the exposure that they need and while people would resort to the usual advertising and promotional methods to do so, owning domain names and proper website representation should be counted among the necessary things for people as well.
Building on web presence was not given much attention in the early years of the availability of the Internet. Many did not forecast the fruits and benefits that websites would have, refusing to believe in the benefits that web presence can provide for building corporate awareness. Today, corporate websites have been the preference of most people when the need for product backgrounds, company information and contact numbers becomes a need.
It is quite obvious that the Internet has indeed lived up to its promise on being a strategic partner in helping evolve business in every aspect possible. Today, the first batch of companies that believed in it are enjoying such benefits. The people who chose to ignore it, now have a hard time jockeying for placement since preference for their domain names and proper representation need to fall in line to do so.
